About

My name is Benoît Toussaint. I’m a technical, proactive and driven legal professional, I describe myself as a generalist in a world of specialists. I have a passion for leading complex cross-department projects with the goal of bringing regulatory compliant products to market.

Right now, I work as an expert consultant to the DORA program manager at a big European bank to implement the regulation to their numerous entities. They have lawyers, they have technical PM but they were lacking that regulatory/technical profile that can bring all the pieces together.

What do I bring to the table?

• 10+ years of international experience in Europe in various industries (finance, automotive, tech, foreign trade,…), driving operational & strategic results. I’m passionate about fostering collaboration and driving success on a global scale.
• A unique combination of legal, technical & operational skills that has enabled me to lead cross-functional projects and deliver successful outcomes.
• I’m a proactive and strategic thinker who goes beyond simply addressing legal issues. I anticipate potential challenges, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop innovative solutions that align with overall business objectives.

What do I believe in?!

I’ve held diverse positions in the past which gave me the opportunity to work with departments ranging from product and engineering all the way to procurement, finance and HR, giving me a deep understanding of their challenges and goals. This understanding enables me to effectively manage stakeholders and drive successful project outcomes.

I believe in a strong organization, thorough documentation, over-communication and continuous learning. This allows me to continuously identify areas for improvement and contribute to strategic decision-making.

Lastly, I believe in always trying to unblock people, whether colleagues or customers. To do so, asking the right questions is often the first step. For the rest, I’ll figure it out, that’s one of my strengths, I figure things out.

After hours

Outside of work, I’m passionate about sports, geopolitics, and reading. A recent favorite is “Chip Wars” by Chris Miller, which lies at the sweet spot between geopolitics and tech and ties back to my experience with export controls.
